Commercial EPCs

EPCs are required, by law, for all commercial properties that are being leased, sold or built. An EPC must be available before any business or property is placed on the market or offered for sale.

It is the business owner or landlord's responsibility to ensure an EPC has been issued before the property is marketed. Failure to do so could result in both the property owner and agent incurring a fine. The fines range from £500 to £5000, usually calculated at 12.5% of the rateable value of the building.
